Dimitrios Theodoropoulos Memorial Lecture Award

Nominations

Last October, the Organizing Committee of the 6th HFBP conference and the Hellenic Peptide Society, announced a call for nominations for the 1st Dimitrios Theodoropoulos Memorial Lecture Award, and invited all National Representatives of the European Peptide Society to propose candidates for this newly established award sponsored by the A. Polychroniadis family.

The award is to be presented to a scientist who has made a significant contribution to Peptide Chemistry in the five years preceding the date of selection, and the candidates have to be members of the European Peptide Society, with no restriction as to their age or their position.

The candidates proposed by the Council members were:

  • Fernando Albericio
  • Ferenc Hudecz
  • George Kokotos
  • Luis Moroder
  • Anna-Maria Papini
  • Michael Przybylski
  • Andre Tartar

  

Ballot Results

The Organizing Committee of the 6th HFBP received, at the close of the voting date (January 25th) 15 votes (1st & 2nd choices) from a possible total of 25 voters, for the 7 candidates.

The analysis of the results gave 2 nominees with an equal number of votes (5), who are going to share the 1st Dimitrios Theodoropoulos Memorial Lecture Award, namely:

  • Luis Moroder
  • Anna-Maria Papini

The two distinguished colleagues are invited to attend and give a lecture during the Opening Session of the 6th HFBP, on May 18th, 2008 and they will also share the pecuniary reward of 2,000 Euros.
