Dear Colleagues,
Let me signal the workshop ‘Peptide-based materials: from nanostructures to applications’ to be held in Strasbourg in June 2010 within the 2010 Spring Conference of the European Materials Research Society (Strasbourg, June 7-11).
Organizers of the workshop are Prof. Carlos Aleman (Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Spain), Dr. Alberto Bianco (CNRS, Strasbourg, France) and Prof. Mariano Venanzi (University of Rome Tor Vergata, Italy).
Scientific Committee: Dr. Amalia Aggeli (University of Leeds, U.K.); Prof. Roland Brock (Radboud University Njimegen, Netherlands); Prof. Greg Dieckmann (The University of Texas at Dallas, USA); Prof. Pascal Dumy ( Université de Grenoble, France); Prof. Ernest Giralt (University of Barcelona, Spain); Prof. Shunsaku Kimura (Kyoto University, Japan); Prof. Hiroshi Matsui (The City University of New York, USA); Prof. Slawomir Sek (University of Warsaw, Poland); Prof. Claudio Toniolo (Università di Padova, Italy); Prof. Dek Woolfson (University of Bristol, U.K.)
The workshop will be framed in three sessions:
1. Peptide-based nanostructures
2. Peptide conjugates, nanocomposites and bio-hybrid materials
3. Applications of peptide-based materials
A poster session and a final round-table (‘Networking peptide-based materials’) will be also organized. Selected contributions will be published in a special issue of the Journal of Peptide Science (Wiley).
Deadline for abstract submission is January 19, 2010.
Detailed information on the E-MRS Spring Conference 2010 is available at: www.emrs-strasbourg.com.
I hope to see you in Strasbourg,
Mariano Venanzi
