A Report on the Third Scientific Meeting of the Italian Peptide Society dedicated to Young Researchers

CONFERENCE REPORT
Third Scientific Meeting of the Italian Peptide Society dedicated to Young Researchers
Florence, Italy, 13 November 2021.

The 3rd Scientific Meeting of the Italian Peptide Society (ItPS) dedicated to Young Researchers has been held in Florence (Hotel Londra) on Saturday November 13th, 2021, in a very welcomed mixed modality: a brave group of 35 ItPS members was present in Florence, strictly respecting all the COVID rules, while the meeting was broadcasted live on the web, enabling the active participation of many other members.

As in every second year, the meeting was dedicated to the participants in the 2020 Vittorio Erspamer Scientific Award of ItPS, dedicated to young researchers. Accordingly, the program featured scientific presentations of the winners: Bruno Casciaro (University of Roma “La Sapienza”), first place; Francesco Merlino (University of Naples “Federico II”), second place; and the three special mentions Raffaella Bucci (University of Milan), Lucia Ferrazzano (University of Bologna), and Sara la Manna (University of Naples “Federico II”), followed by a simple award ceremony.

In the afternoon we enjoyed six flash presentation of other young researchers who participated in the Vittorio Erspamer Award. The full program of the event, warmly acknowledging the support of the European Peptide Society, is available on the ItPS web site (www.italianpeptidesociety.it).

Overall, the scientific content of the event highlighted the excellent level of the young members of the Italian peptide community and reflected the different and stimulating aspects of their research activity.
