2nd ItPS Meeting dedicated to Young Researchers
Florence, Italy, 21 September 2019.

The 2nd meeting of the Italian Peptide Society (ItPS) dedicated to young researchers has been held at the University of Florence, on Saturday September 21st, 2019.

The event, organized with the efforts of the members of the ItPS Scientific Committee has had an high attendance with the participation of more than 70 members of the recently born Italian Peptide Society.

The meeting started with a plenary lecture held by the co-founder of ItPS, Dr. Antonello Pessi. After the lecture, Dr. Pessi was mentioned as Honorary Member of the Italian Peptide Society.

After the plenary lecture, 12 oral communications were held by young researchers of ItPS that gave a picture of emerging peptide science in Italy.

Finally, the two winners of the “Vittorio Erspamer Award” dedicated to young researchers (Dr. Salvatore Di Maro, University of Caserta “Luigi Vanvitelli” and Dr. Mario Mardirossian, University of Trieste) presented their researchers.

All the lectures were followed by stimulating discussions promoted by the chairman and with the participation of several participants.

The scientific content of the invited lectures, and oral presentations reflected the state of the art in several specific aspects of the peptide research ongoing in Italy and was very much appreciated by all participants.
